Help us make an impact in the community while finding newfound success in the OR _*apply today!*_The Inova Mount Vernon Operating Room consists of 8 ORs serving Orthopedics communities- Total Joints, Ankles, and Shoulders; Sports Medicine; Podiatry; General- Laparoscopic and Open; Urology; Plastics, and ENT. Case volumes average 20 cases per day. The OR functions 24/7 with the support of all teams on off-shifts and holidays. Maintain strong and open communication skills.* Has respect for and understanding of other clinical disciplines.* Provides direction and guidance to others regarding practice, serves as a resource preceptor and mentor.*Position Requirements:** *Experience:*Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Surgical First Assistant or 2 years of Surgical Technologist experience.* *Education and Licensure:*Must be licensed as a Surgical Assistant in the Commonwealth of Virginia at the time of hire.* *Certification:* BLS via American Heart Association.* *Preferred experience:* Ortho, Robotics & Plastics* A current credential as a surgical assistant or surgical first assistant issued by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA), the National Commission for Certification of Surgical Assistants (NCCSA), or their successors.*About Inova Health System *Inova is Northern Virginias leading nonprofit healthcare provider.
