Job Description Job Description We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team on a contract basis in Richmond, Virginia. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in financial reconciliation and accounting practices, particularly within the non-profit sector. Responsibilities: • Perform comprehensive account reconciliations to ensure financial accuracy and compliance. • Manage month-end close processes, including preparation and review of financial statements. • Create and post journal entries to maintain accurate financial records. • Reconcile bank statements and resolve discrepancies promptly. • Analyze and reconcile the general ledger to ensure consistency and accuracy. • Assist in forensic accounting tasks related to fund reconciliation projects. • Prepare detailed financial reports for internal and external stakeholders. • Collaborate with team members to optimize accounting processes and workflows. • Ensure adherence to regulatory and organizational financial standards. • Proven experience in month-end close processes and financial reporting. • Strong knowledge of general ledger management and account reconciliation. • Proficiency in preparing and posting journal entries. • Expertise in bank reconciliation and resolving discrepancies. • Solid understanding of forensic accounting principles. • Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills. • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities. • Familiarity with accounting practices in the non-profit sector is a plus.
