We are dedicated to curiosity, growth, and respect, working in a small, collaborative, and entrepreneurial environment that is flexible and committed to making the world a more equitable and kinder place.Job OverviewThe Director of Business Development Operations is the operational driver behind ACF's growth efforts, focusing on managing the pipeline of donor-advised and collaborative funds and developing multi-stream fundraising plans to support core operations. Reporting to the Senior Director, this role ensures external staff are equipped with effective engagement plans and requires a systems thinker with a strong understanding of individual and institutional giving and moves management.This position involves creating and managing workflows, tracking progress towards revenue goals, and supporting external staff in relationship cultivation. The ideal candidate is highly organized, proactive, and comfortable in a remote, fast-paced environment with a donor/client service mindset.Note: This role requires a robust understanding of funding intermediaries in philanthropy and familiarity with giving vehicles used by intermediaries.ResponsibilitiesBusiness Development Operations (50%)

  • Manage daily business development operations, including prospect management and inquiries.
  • Match prospective clients' needs with ACF products and ensure operational compliance.
  • Conduct prospect research using our Know Your Customer tool.
  • Develop dashboards and reports to track engagement and progress toward goals.
  • Foster a team approach to business development and relationship management.
  • Implement and improve moves management systems and internal workflows.
  • Prepare materials for prospective funder and donor engagements.
  • Maintain high-quality internal knowledge management systems to identify strategic opportunities.
  • Operationalize strategic priorities into actionable growth plans with the Senior Director.
  • Develop external engagement plans to grow funds and relationships.
  • Partner with the Philanthropic Services team on pipeline development and data tracking.
  • Supervise business development staff effectively, aligning with ACF values.Strategic Relationship Support (30%)
    • Contribute to strategic planning for business development goals.
    • Stay informed on sector trends like DAFs, collaborative funds, and fundraising best practices.
    • Coordinate cross-departmental strategies and deepen external stakeholder engagement.Business Development (10%)
      • Present and pitch ACF services independently when needed.
      • Collaborate with other directors for seamless client management.
      • Engage in strategic planning and compliance navigation for new funds.Requirements
        • Commitment to ACF's mission and vision.
        • At least 7 years' experience in sales, fundraising, or business development in the nonprofit sector.
        • Proven success managing development operations and raising significant gifts.
        • Strong relationship-building skills and experience managing high-value portfolios.
        • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
        • At least 5 years' experience with CRM and project management tools.
        • Deep understanding of the philanthropic ecosystem, including giving vehicles and networks.
        • Ability to engage diverse stakeholders effectively.
        • Supervisory experience is preferred.
        • Deep commitment to customer service.Preferred Qualifications
          • Expertise in charitable giving and institutional philanthropy.
          • Client-focused, solutions-oriented approach.
          • Experience with collaborative funds and fiscal sponsorships is a plus.Salary & BenefitsThe salary range is $150,000 - $175,000, commensurate with experience. This is a remote position requiring domestic travel.
