Sustainment & Environmental is in search of a Decision Scientist.
This role will support the development of a climate adaptation
planning rubric and planning process on behalf of the National
Parks Service.This role is critical in reviewing the statistical
data aspect to make informed decisions in reference to the
Performance Work Statement (PWS) for Pilot Asset Classification
Rubric Development, Application, and Implementation. The Decision
Scientist will play a key role in leading the development of
environmental coastal adaptation strategies for infrastructure that
will serve as actionable roadmaps to guide short- and long-term
adaptation actions to transition to future conditions at each park
unit.Supervisory Responsibilities:Duties/Responsibilities:
- Prepares Monthly progress reports and deliverables to the
customer.
- Facilitate meetings, calls and workshops, both in-person and
virtual.
- Provide thought leadership and direction for analytic solutions
and tools.
- Analyze and integrate data from different disciplines pertinent
to complex decisions to drive fact-based strategic planning that
also incorporates client values and goals.
- Frame data analyses in terms of the decision-making
process.
- Optimize models and decision-analysis or decision-making
frameworks.
- Apply statistical concepts and techniques to guide decision
making.
- Apply techniques for data visualization and interpretation for
use by multi-disciplinary teams and decision makers.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.Required
Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 or similar
software.Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer science, data science,
mathematics, statistics, Environmental Engineering, Construction
Management, or related field required.
- 2 years minimum experience in infrastructure cost estimating
(e.g., utilities systems, facilities structures, transportation,
maintained landscapes, etc.).Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a
computer.
